Why did the chicken cross the road?
This is one of the favorite jokes of the older kids. Slightly out of their age and maturity envelop is this joke:
Q: What is the difference between Israeli politicians and Nazi war criminals, Afghan warlords or fugitive leaders of genocidal campaigns?
A: According to Times Online, the British government will continue to allow the arrest of Nazi war criminals, Afghan warlords or fugitive leaders of genocidal campaigns, but will the through the offices of the Attorney General, create a new power to review private warrants, particularly those brought against Israeli politicians, preventing their arrest.
A sense of humor is important, even to an authoritarian government, when trafficking with war criminals.
More humor. Danny Ayalon, Israel’s deputy foreign minister, claimed that since that most Israeli citizens had served in the military, that most Israeli would be liable to arrest when they travel to Britain. He's making the case that a civil attorney can't count stripes or otherwise distinguish Senior Officers with combat arms operational command histories from hospital orderlies.
Only in Israeli loop-de-loops could this be called something other than using non-culpable personnel as human shields for culpable personnel.
