Índios Isolados

I saw a few of the photos on BBC World last night as they were interviewing a spokesperson from Survival international. Utterly fascinating.
And all sorts of questions. Some do not have faces painted, some do, why? Hierarchy, spiritual, gender? What's the meaning of the red and the black?
The layout of the structures, drainage on the slope? Common area structures? Are some for storage?
What did they think they were aiming at with their bows?
Obviously not an anthropologist, so I hope some speculation gets circulated this week or next from someone with valid ideas. On the other hand, part of me thinks we should just leave them alone. We have our polaroids, let's go back home.
