Now I get to do it too...

And show just what a dinosaur I am.

So I added 95 songs to my iPod (yes, all purchased from iTunes.) My first 20 song shuffle for Wampum?

Yeah, I got "Walk Like An Egyptian," too. If you like that, you'll probably like "1985" by Bowling for Soup. Evidently, our generation is now sufficiently aged that the damn kids are mocking us. I also downloaded several songs from Johnny Cash's "Bitter Tears" album; "The Ballad of Ira Hayes" is good, and "Custer" is good for a laugh, particularly considering he recorded it in 1964. I wish iTunes had a better selection of Pow wow music, though; especially Southern. Why is it only the Northern guys seem to get recording contracts?

I've been hanging out a lot at the law school boards (21 - 25 yr olds) and have yet to enter into any discussion of music, knowing that, yes, I will be mocked. As I probably should be. But our CD player in the RV is broken, and the one in the car has been appropriated by the 11 and under set. I really miss music. And you and Eric can hang out and discuss the merits of southern vs. northern powwow music - I can't stand either, unless I'm doing a jingle or fancy shawl dance.

Anyway, I love the iPod, and, having purchased a docking unit, have begun brainwashing the kids. Grace has already taught Jonah to repeat "Daddy's music stinks, Mommy has better music." He he he.

Kids today. No sense of history.

Hey, at least you CAN dance; you're one up on me.

CAKE - The Distance

My 14 year-old just did that in his ensemble at Tony Boffa's. What made me most proud was how the ensemble of teenagers twisted it. And he asked me to pick him up a cheap Yuke.

Hmmmm, no sugarcubes. no howling wolf.

You did pledge WMPG right?

Oh please! Phi Alpha Delta. If it's good enough for Bill AND Hillary...

Hey, that was only the first twenty. Of course there are Sugarcubes on my iPod! And Mighty Lemondrops, and Throwing Muses. Joy Harjo's there too.

No rap, no hip-hop, no heavy metal. Just can't bring myself...

My iPod has become a bizarre mishmash, everything from Tommy Wildcat and Walela to Metallica to Snoop Dogg to Hank Williams, Jr. to podcast Cherokee language lessons to Carmina Burana to Monty Python Sings! So, there! I am more eclectic than thou!

Dinosaurs rock the Stoner Age! I'm not gonna apologize to the kidz who lack exquisite taste like that.

Um, what's an iPod?

Love;
