I've lived my whole life in the South so I am no stranger to the jokes about inbred Southern families. I have heard that people from Alabama go to family reunions to meet girls. I have heard that family trees in Arkansas don't fork. And so on and on...

How, then, can it be that when it turns out that a prominent politician and Presidential candidate married his cousin, he happens to be from New York?
