Watching a rocket launch

A launch just took place from Vandenberg. No idea what it is yet. It flew towards the south, passing overhead, consistent with satellite launch vehicles, with a significant smoke track, consistent with the first stage burn profile of a Delta II (nine solid fuel motors). Viewed from 34.5108333333 -120.499444444.

via the launch schedule, today's menu features a Delta II at 13:00 from launch pad SLC-2W with ... a Classified National Reconnaissance Office payload. NROL-21.
