So why does Bush care so much?

Regarding proposed changes in the Indian Trust Reform Act, Indianz.com reports:

Staff confirms Bush behind Cobell proposals
Thursday, October 26, 2006

Senate Indian Affairs Committee staff confirmed the Bush administration is behind a series of controversial proposals to the Cobell trust settlement bill.

The committee released a "briefing paper" on Monday that outlined the changes. They seek a dramatic change in the management of the Indian trust system and call for an end to all tribal and individual Indian trust claims.

Bush HAS to get this through before he leaves office. It's clearly one of the top priorities for his corporate puppetmasters.

It also makes it obviously clear to me that my longstanding assertions that BigOil/Gas/Coal/Timber are absolutely adamant that their books on Indian Trust royalties not be opened. $200 billion is not chump change.
