Peter Daou's Week in Review

Its been a wicked good week for Peter, and the week isn't all used up yet.

On Sunday he got the One-Nuke-Trumps-Thousands meme pasted over every square inch of the surface of the globe when the DPRK managed .2kt to 2.0kt of yeild out of 16kg of 239Pu. Properly pitted they can look for higher yeilds on half that, which should stretch the DPRK's inventory of approximately 50kg to 100kg of 239Pu out considerably.

Just before Memorial Day last year Peter excitedly sent me mail about a project he'd gotten involved with, "a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization focused on immediate actions to address high-risk situations involving nuclear, biological and chemical weapons. [It] is co-chaired by CNN founder Ted Turner and former U.S. Senator Sam Nunn. Warren Buffett serves as Advisor to the Board of Directors." He went on to push a video they'd put together, which was shortly on quite a few sidebars, though not ours.

I wrote him, the sense of my reply is sprinkled over this post -- Happy Birthday to You and You and You and You, and I missed then the potential for good clean fun that Japan's 10 tons of 239Pu allows, weaponized, or simply simply recycled in the MoX ("plutonium economy") dork on the nuclear fuel cycle, and drawn down upon for weaponization when ever anyone feels the need for neutrons that speed.

Today Peter can put zeroing out the cash value of Marcos Moulitsas's Day Off in Las Vegas on his list of things done recently, and take some of the credit for stepping fatally on Mark Warner's shadow.

Just a couple of days left. I wonder if Peter will transform the blogosphere (yes, skippy was treated like crap) into a symmetric set of right, and left wing nut jobs with mindless readers and big ad revenues.

Unless that's already happened. Which would leave him free for the weekend.

Whoooa Nelly.

WTF?

Speechless, I am.

(ps: didn't know about the Dine ban on Uranium. Followed the Big Mtn dispute for many years so I am VERY glad to learn this)
