Blogger Ethics Pannel needed
Plame yeilds Libby, but not Rove, though the grand jury is still out.
Abramoff yeilds Michael Scanlon, David Safavian, Ed Buckham, Adam Kidan, Bob Ney, Tony Rudy, Neil Volz, and several grand juries are also still out.
Fundamentally, Plame just leads to a political act by a regime that has no enemies, except domestic ones. There is no new narrative about nuclear, chemical, or biological weapons and political fabrication. There is no one left to convince who can be convinced, that the air tasking orders and movement orders of 14 March, 2003, were elective.
Abramoff was the bag-man for two (or more) criminal conspiracies within the Republican Party. The investigation of Abramoff leads to dozens of members of Congress, each of which immediately becomes politically vulnerable. Further, Amy Ridenour's National Center for Public Policy Research (Exxon/Mobile) and Grover Norquist's Council for Republican Environmental Advocacy (National Mining Assn, Koch Industries, BP) laundered the Abramoff cash and used it to fund an attack campaign against Al Gore's environmental credentials throughout the Clinton/Gore second term, and they are still "in business" and still running attack campaigns against the environmental credentials of ... Al Gore.
Organizing around that material aspect of the Abramoff and related investigations is something that didn't happen in Las Vegas.
The selection of Plame for a panel, rather than Abramoff, is a choice we do not share.
