Pick One
I first put up Chuck Pennachio's banner on our sidebar when we left Maine (again) last August to head south to Cape Hatteras. Hope being what it was, we hoped Chuck would be able to hire MB to articulate her ideas (and his too, if he had any) on how to execute field, based on her experience doing field for CG92-CT, CG96-ME, GL00-ME, Pingree04-ME, her own primary, ME-116, and KE04-ME, and what we'd learned living behind a VSAT and participating in the Katerina VoIP/wireless relief effort.
It wasn't to be. Chuck didn't have money.
In the interests of fairness I put up Alan Sandels' banner on our sidebar when we moved to Pitt, and I met Alan and Will Mega at a meet-n-greet.
But the rules of the PDP are plurality wins, not 50+1, so there will be no run-off between Casey and which ever of Chuck or Alan comes in second, or first. Casey will win because the kinder-kuche-kirche vote will be unsplit, and the women-are-half-the-workforce vote will be split.
So we have to pick one. Now.
So Alan is coming off our sidebar. I stood or sat near him for an hour and watched him work a small room, so he's my pick for the guy not to run against Casey. I wish him well, in any race but this, and Will may be good a field, I don't know, but he sure is good at being the candidate's bodyman and helping him work a room, dot the eyes and cross the tees. I can't say that if I gave Chuck the same hairy eyeball I wouldn't come to the same conclusion about him as a candidate. I just don't know, but one man has to beat Casey. Two can't.

Thank you for blogging about the primary.
Our Lancaster for Pennacchio group is holding a rally next Wednesday, April 19, before the debate at F&M College.
We'd like to get as many Chuck supporters as we can; we're hoping a large crowd might just alert some undecided/inattentive voters (and the media) to the fact that this primary isn't over.
Rally starts at 4:30; debate at 7:00
Please pass this information along to anyone else you think might be interested. Thanks!
