"But I barely knew her..."

I was researching CREA (under it's various names, including "Save Our Urban Centers Fund") in the IRS 527 filings database, and while I wasn't able to find much information on CREA's supporters (particularly since they claim they haven't received contributions since October, 2000), I did find some interesting information on CREA President, Italia Federici.

When CREA was initially registered with the IRS, VP Jared Carpenter listed the mailing address as 1429 G Street, #409, Washington, DC. The physical address was listed as 1219 Wisconsin Ave. However, page two of IRS form 8871 lists the names of Officers, Directors, etc. These were two of the names and addresses provided on this disclosure, dated July 30, 2000:

Jared Carpenter's address here is the same as listed as his home address on the front page. The other officers also had their home addresses provided, so we can comfortably assume that Italia Federici's address is that of her home residence.

A quick google of 718 North Carolina Ave., SE found another resident from that period:

This information was compiled by the Institute for First Amendment Studies and was posted on their website in 1998. Much of this information is now dated. It is posted here as part of a historic research archive. Grover Norquist

Address: 718 North Carolina Ave SE

State: DC
ZIP: 20003
WWW: http://www.atr.org

The California Firearms Guide in 2000 also lists Norquist at that address.

This information puts this email from the Senate Indian Affairs Committee into a bit more context:

Am I missing something here? The IRS form says "718 North WASHINGTON St." but the Norquist address is "718 North CAROLINA St."

Unless this is the sort of street that has many names and only the locals really know where they are, there would appear to be two addresses in play here.

Unless I'm missing something, as I said.

My bad. I'm going to say that a "screen refresh" made the "North Carolina" on the form more clear, but more probably I was having a (very premature) senior moment.

Mea culpa.

Excellent work.
