The 2006 Koufax Awards: Early nominations for humorous post, best post and series

I said that I was going to start doing this monthly, so what better time than now.

So if there was a post, humorous post or series that you're whacking your forehead with that fleshy part of your palm, exclaiming, "I have to remember to nominate that post next December for a Koufax", just do it now instead.

New rules, however. We're being sticklers about URLs - don't provide one, no nomination. For series, provide at least three examples, or a URL where all posts are listed.

And DO NOT nominate in any other categories. I'm sure you'll still remember in December how much you loved Atrios at this point in time.

We're now offering civicrm in drupal, joomla!, and standalone configurations, as well as MediaWiki, JSPWiki and Xwiki, as well as the blog standards: MovableType and WordPress. If you have an electoral candidate or issue campaign you'd like to have done by non-nonsense pros who've flesh in the game, or delight in web 2.0 tech, drop Eric a line.

I'd like to suggest that there be a new category - one where the progressive community gets to give itself a collective pat on the back.

Best Blogswarm---i.e. best example of the progressive blogosphere working together/as one to tackle a specific and timely issue.

And the first nomination goes, of course, to all of us for the enormous amount of research being done on Ben Domenech and his various racism/idiocy/plagarism scandals.... we all deserve a pat on the back on that one, (and maybe there can be a way of patting specific people on the back who have been instrumental in moving the swarm forward, like "oregon" from Kos who discovered that Ben had plagarized PJ ORourke..., and Steve G. who found how "Augustine" had quoted a racist diatribe without comment....

just a thought...

Best Post and/or Most Humorous Post: Bottle of Blog's Out with the Old Drunk, In With The New

Best Post: Michael Bérubé's Academic Freedom

Should I delete these bookmarks from my Koufax 2006 file now, MB?

Best Series: David Neiwart's March of the Minutemen series

Hey Elayne: Those are just great. I had missed a couple of them. Thanks for calling them to my attention.
