Rox Populi as Michelle Maklin, "The New Youth Craze" should win in a crowded field.
Michael, you know I like chillin' with the kewl kidz on your site. And am grateful you haven't had the bouncers toss me out. The whole shut out thing -- it did tug at the heart. But we all gave you 300,000 votes on the Lunatics site. That has to count for something!
Here are the reasons why I am compelled to go with Roxanne:
(a) empathy with a stilleto blade -- deliciously turning Malkin's oeuvre inside out;
(b) great integration of art, aesthetics and substance. The only thing missing was a soundtrack, but I doubt Yoko would have licensed the necessary keening.
All the entries are great -- but props gotta go where due.

Life and Death by Chris Clarke. This one haunts me. I catch myself thinking about it while I'm on the subway, or doing the dishes, or trying to figure out what I really think of certain complicated people in my life. To me, it's about the weird charismatic energy that animates certain extraordinarily selfish and shallow people. It's about how people like that can very occasionally channel those powers for good. The fact that they can raises interesting moral questions about whether anyone can really be all bad, and even if they can, what moral consequences might follow from that assessment.

This is so not fair ... I want to split my vote between Jesus General, Rude Pundit and Rox Populi!!!!!!!!
But serioiusly, Michelle Maklin is a thing of wonder. I vote Rox Populi.

Fung Fu Monkey's The Crazification Factor is one I have found myself quoting time and again not only in political discussions, but also in other circumstances when absurd decisions come to light. It's not often such a plausible model for society comes in such a hilariously well-crafted little package. It gets my vote.
