We're now offering civicrm in drupal, joomla!, and standalone configurations,
as well as MediaWiki, JSPWiki and Xwiki,
as well as the blog standards: MovableType and WordPress.
If you have an electoral candidate or issue campaign you'd like to have done by non-nonsense pros who've flesh in the game, or delight in web 2.0 tech, drop Eric a line.

ThinkProgress has to be my choice here, although I find AmericaBlog's rants to be very cathartic! ThinkProgress just gives such thorough coverage and linkages that it could be (if I weren't addicted to blogs) "one stop shopping".
Think Progress is daily essential reading. From their innovative site architecture to their sense of humor and wit (see today's "Giving lap dods a bad name" post, they are the scoop before there is a scoop. They guide my daily writing and thinking. Having visited their offices, and knowing how comprehensive they are, I expected to see some exhausted, baggy-eyed people. But at CAP, they are fresh-faced and optimistic, and the breaks that this blog provides must be driving that positive attitude.
Tough, tough category; adore Wolcott, Orcinus does God's
work, Media Matters is irreplacable, Americablog does real journalism no one else is doing...
My choice: Talking Points Memo, because the of the incredible
work Josh did on the bankruptcy bill, Social Security,
and keeping track of Republican perfidy.
Talking Points Memo. He provides the best coverage of politics ala Washington, and, when he gets his teeth into an issue (Valerie Plame, Abramoff, Duke Cunningham, Delay, etc.) he really changes the dynamic of the situation and has an impact upon the mainstream media coverage.
Blogs have reshaped the web, impacted politics, shaken up journalism, and enabled millions of people to have a voice and connect with others. I vote for Sirotablog as best blog because of the topics he covers and the high quality of his comments/information.
Sirotablog gets my vote, even though the others mentioned are also good. David Sirota, though, is the most astute progressive, observer of the passing political scene.
Sirota Blog. Dave's astute analysis of the devastating effects of "free trade", and general reporting on how corporations are fucking up the world, are a must-read.
I so very much wish this high quality level of coverage was inherent in traditional media. Perhaps I would watch more television if "news" programs were about facts and not about "reaching" a certain group of viewers.
David Sirota's blog (and organization) is the best, most informative I have seen. He gives us perspective on the issue and then always links us to the evidence and sources. Great blog.
To say one is better than the other...impossible. Each and every one and others not even included. I must say that I read TPM more frequently than the others. We need all of them to uncover the depth of this manure pile.
To say one is better than the other...impossible. Each and every one and others not even included. I must say that I read TPM more frequently than the others. We need all of them to uncover the depth of this manure pile.
They are all fantastic! And choosing only one is a
difficult choice. However, I read SirotaBlog the most
because the facts are easily verifiable. Also Dave's
astute analysis of the devastating effects of "free trade",
and general reporting on how corporations are fucking up
the world, are a must-read.
Sirota, as friendly as he sounds on America Online, doesn't hesitate to call it like it is and step on toes when they need stomping. And that includes faux Democrats, progressives, liberals and any other drifters from the truth.
There's no bull there (except for a bit of Montana).
Sirotablog.......for sure! David Sirota's vision for the future of our country and our world is much more ideal than the future being called-for by Fukuyama of Johns Hopkins (Wilsonian realist). Sirota has brains AND cojones.
Sirotablog.......for sure! David Sirota's vision for the future of our country and our world is much more ideal than the future being called-for by Fukuyama of Johns Hopkins (Wilsonian realist). Sirota has brains AND cojones.
Sirotablog has more of the in-depth story than any blog on the web. When I hear something on
Air America or Americablog, I then go to Sirotablog to get the real scoop! Thomas Paine once
wrote his version of a blog and it helped save and unify a young and confused nation. I
believe Sirotablog is performing that same function today.
I so very much wish this high quality level of coverage was inherent in traditional media. Perhaps I would watch more television if "news" programs were about facts and not about "reaching" a certain group of viewers.
To me, David is a modern day Spartacus, trying to show Dems the way out of both forced and self inflicted captivity. At the same time, pointing out the borderline insanity of the ruling class in Washington.
Sirotablog!
David is the best and the best voice for survival of a middle-class in our once great Republic, which we will re-claim from the neo-incompetents.
The others are good but Sirota has a very assertive
nature and he knows what America's working class go
thru and need. Dems ought to de-link from the GOP and
learn what people want and need.
Sirabog- He should be on every talk show, especially Oprah Show if she really cares about the poor, working class and the loss democracy. He is my hero. Gerry Stevenson
I would marry David Block (Media matters) in a second if he didn't play for the other team b/c I adore his story of redemption and am so grateful that someone is holding Fox News accountable! BUT... David Sirota is the best researched & always includes references to back up his points. Plus, he really is a total hottie - Al Franken isn't being sarcastic when he calls him "sexy-sexy". I think his green eyes could bring more college-aged women into the movement if he worked it right!
So my vote is for Sirotablog.
But where are all the female bloggers? what's up with that?
Sirotablog's "Free" traders now aiming to exploit North Korea's enslaved workers. So many of David Sirota's blogs are right on the mark that it is difficult to choose one as the best, but this comes close.
I too love James Wolcott's writing and David Sirota's passionate activism, but I find myself going to Talking Points Memo more often for Josh Marshall's investigative coups and breaking news.
I go with James Wolcott--not a news breaker per-se, but per post, he inflicts so much pain on those who need to feel pain that I simply must give it to him.
When he gets 'em, they stay got. I can think of no one on the right who would
want to tangle with him--much less find themselves within his verbal
smart-bomb sights.
I HOPE DAVID SIROTA RUNS FOR THE SENATE. HIS BLOG IS BY FAR THE MOST INFORMATIVE BLOG I FOUND YET. KEEP IT GOING DAVE, WE NEED MORE OF THE SAME FROM OTHERS LIKE YOU. JIM
Sirota is the best. He is not afraid to speak truth. I wish the democrates would wake up and start acting like an opposition party instead of "go along to get along".
I write political poetry and David supplies me
with the facts, all the facts, and much more
than the facts - he connects the dots for me.
I find his research indespensible. Sirota Blog
is my choice for best blog. Thank you.
They are all GREAT and Thank God for
them; but, it's Sirotablog because
David, like Finegold, keeps growing
and has a passionate concern for the
real people of America!
Think Progress. I would go with Americablog, but those trivial posts on orchids get on my nerves. TalkingPointsMemo gets a bit too obsessed with a single issue (e.g., "Duke" Cunningham) at times.
As much as I love Media Matters for all their great work, I have to vote for AmericaBlog. Great passionate commentary on a variety of issues and fact checking, and willing to give credit where it is due. Plus John is a fellow Scifi fan so that has to count for something.
Talking Points Memo - A growing brand, as Josh Marshall builds a blog empire built on absolutely outstanding reporting. TPM, TPM Cafe, TPM Muckraker - Marshall's TPM is the original gold standard blog of the left.
AMERICAblog, insightful and provocative posts by Aravosis and friends, and great threads by posters... Not too trolly. Activist.

Sirotablog has more of the in-depth story than any blog on the web. When I hear something on

believe Sirotablog is performing that same function today.

I go with James Wolcott--not a news breaker per-se, but per post, he inflicts so much
pain on those who need to feel pain that I simply must give it to him.
When he gets 'em, they stay got. I can think of no one on the right who would
want to tangle with him--much less find themselves within his verbal
smart-bomb sights.

Sirota is the best. He is not afraid to speak truth. I wish the democrates would wake up and start acting like an opposition party instead of "go along to get along".
