Griles Indictment Watch
With Gale Norton's sudden resignation within weeks of Abramoff's sentencing, I think that it's pretty clear that Jack spilled all the beans he could on former Deputy Secretary J. Steven Griles, and Norton is a) terrified that Abramoff has the goods on her as well, or, more likely, b) she's worried Griles will turn, and she'll be left holding the beaded purse bag. This should be especially worrisome for Norton after the Wall Street Journal reported last month that Griles has sought numerous times recently to "clarify things" with federal investigators, only to be rebuffed.
So while I set about to write up a more thorough summary of the Life and TImes of J. Steven Griles, having spent a significant amount of my time investigating the man and his scandals, I'll point to a few earlier posts, useful as background.
