One in Four
There was a woman in the race, Barbara Hafer. Pro-choice, a Republican mavrick, now a Democrat, from the western part of the state. She had the endorsement of the National Organization of Women. She didn't have the endorsement of Governor Randell (D) or Senator Schumer (D-NY).

One in four Pennsylvania Democrats polled say they will not vote for a candidate who is opposed to Choice. Choice Democrats outnumber NoChoice Democrats in Pennsylvania by a margin of 2 to 1. The numbers for Republicans and Independents in Pennsylvania who indicate a preference for a Choice candate are 40% and 54%, respectively.
It really comes down to whether Rendell's and Schumer's are the only votes that count, or whether sufferage actually has been extended to any third man, or any woman at all.
Pennsylvania needs Bernice Sanders (I-Choice). She could win this thing.

I agree 100%. I am tired of the 'appease 'em at all costs' Democrats dictating whom it is we should vote for. Frankly - Republicans notwithstanding - I'd like to see those oh so powerful we be institutions and other shit Dems get their asses handed to them next election cycle.

As a life long resident of New York, I have been very disapointed in both of our senators--and I had so much hope!

I'd like to point out that Casey Jr. does accept all kinds of PAC money including idustry and corporate. Also Sandals accepts PAC money as well. The only one in this race who does not is Chuck Pennacchio
[thx. i'll check with the Sandals campaign to make sure, then make any correction. ebw]

I checked with the Sandals campaign today and Sandals accepts PAC money from PACs the campaign considers qualified (consistent with the candidate's values).
I don't see a lot of value in turning down money from a pro-Choice PAC in this race.
