MB - Thanks and God Bless - but I'm not sure those two pieces I've been nominated for could be considered humorous. Political, provocative - but - well, wow. Maybe I'm just not seeing something here. I do tend to approach my work through humor; it just doesn't seem to be the right category for articles about women and violence. Thanks - I'm so honored that anyone would have nominated me for anything - so I do thank you very, very much - but I'm just not sure those two pieces fit. Not complaining here, you understand - just confused.

We could removed them if you like. I have to be honest and admit I haven't read all the posts thoroughly yet (just a basic scan to make sure they weren't right-wing satire of us Lefties), so I didn't notice. Let us know, and we'll do whatever you want.

M. B., I could use your advice here. This is all new to me, and I'm just not sure what's the right thing to do. I'm very pleased to be nominated - but this is confusing. How would you handle this? You have the experience here - I'm really a neophyte. I'd really appreciate your opinion. Thanks!

The missing link to the Pharyngula post in Most Humorous Post is:
http://pharyngula.org/index/weblog/comments/link_to_me_or_the_bible_gets_it/
[after much discussion and soul searching, er, searching for our souls, we've decided not to link to it and therefore to let the bible get it. ebw]

Hey, M.B. - I've thought about this - and I think you should remove those two posts from the Most Humorous category. They weren't intended that way, and I really don't think they belong there. I have to say I can't imagine why someone would nominate articles that deal with women and violence in a humor category to begin with. While I'm thrilled that these same editorials have been nominated for Best Post - they just shouldn't be classified as humor. Thanks so much!

I understand. I think you're doing the right thing, though I'll be sure to read them both more closely when I'm finished with the next grouping.

Thanks M.B. I've put something up on my blog about it. I wish someone had nominated one of my funny posts! Ah well - them's tha breaks! You really have been very kind about all of this.

We are surprised and honored at Soapblox Chicago to be nominated and recognized. Thanks! I'm still having fun looking through all the nominations in all categories...

The "SuperBowl of Wingnuttery" is something I wrote Monday, so I doubt it was really nominated. Perhaps this?

Sorry, Editors. I probably ended up at the front page through a short link (not post-specific) and assumed it was the post without looking at the date. My bad. Now fixed.

I noticed the comments from TFLS above. I had nominated her for Most Humerous referring to this post:
Just Spread Em Honey!
Could it be that the wrong post got on the list?

I nominated myself, and given the company I'm keeping, I have no realistic hope of winning, but still, I think my entry, Bush, Cheney seek one armed man is pretty funny.
Next year, I'm going to nominate my January 6 2006 entry on the Alito nomination process, Full Court Press. THEN I'll be a contender, dammit!
In the meantime, I appreciate the opportunity to link to my own work, even if it doesn't get me much traffic.

So I was nominated for Most Humorous Blog? Sweet deal. Here's a recent post you can check out.

Greatly honored and flattered (and quite honestly waiting for notification that some great mistake has been made) by the nomination of Pearlswine for Most Humorous Blog. But here's a question -- how does one "rattle the kettle" without making it look like one is trying to influence the outcome?

I am incredibly flattered that my blog Courting Destiny was nominated for best writing. Kept on looking at it to make sure that there wasn't a mistake! I am the sole author of it; will take all credit and all complaints
Am very happy that Bring it on! was nominated for best Community as I am a part of that, too, and it's an incredible rapidly growning community
