The Invisible Hand

Wampum will be blocking search engines, both indexing and query returns, which provision index or query data to "law enforcement" without a proper warrant. Search engine operators which make resonable efforts to contest improper warrants will be allowed index and query access to this blog and its archives.

Fifth, any telecommunications company that has provided the government with access to private information concerning the communications of Americans without a proper warrant should immediately cease and desist their complicity in this apparently illegal invasion of the privacy of American citizens.

Freedom of communication is an essential prerequisite for the restoration of the health of our democracy.

It is particularly important that the freedom of the Internet be protected against either the encroachment of government or the efforts at control by large media conglomerates. The future of our democracy depends on it.

Text of Gore speech, January 16, 2006

After this year's Koufax period concludes I expect to expand this policy to access networks (ISPs) and transit networks (backbone operators) who's academic or corporate operators provide the government with access to private information concerning the communications of Americans without a proper warrant.

The .mil and .gov domains are not affected by this policy. People in the NIH, State, the BIA, and the OSD read Wampum, and we think that's a good thing.

NIH == National Institutes of Health
State == US Department of State
BIA == Bureau of Indian Affairs (part of the Department of the Interior)
OSD == Office of the Secretary of Defense

These are our autism (mercury, vaccines, big pharma, conflicts) readers, our Foreign Dependent Nations policy readers, our Domestic Dependent Nations policy (thats an Indian joke) readers, and Donald Rumsfeld and a whole bunch of .mil readers, who read wampum.

We think that's a good thing these people have access to wampum.
