My endorsement...
I had wanted to write a nice post yesterday on my experience at the inauguration and ball 12 years ago (1993, for the math challenged) but life, and red-hot-poker intervened. At the end of that post, I planned on including this...
Although I was strongly opposed to Dr/Gov Howard Dean winning the presidential nomination, I truly, deeply, honestly believe we, as Democrats, should pick him to lead our party as chair of the DNC.
Most of my close friends and colleagues here in Maine know that I've felt this way since last April. So now it's official here in the blogosphere.
My second choice is Simon Rosenberg, namely because my freshman roommate was the first ED of the NDN, handpicked by Rosenberg. If Sue respects him, I suspect he's a decent guy. But Dean is my first choice, particularly as a political hack, a term I've always worn with honor.
BTW, I don't speak for either Eric or Dwight. But as Wampum's founder, I was very outspoken against Dean well before they both came on board, so feel obligated to set my record straight. There it is.
Dean for DNC. Anti-Indian warts and all. Go Dean.

MB, back in the early days of dean, i believe you and i crossed swords many times over at counterspin central, BFA, and other places.
i think i understand how much it took for you to endorse dean, and i just wanted to drop some acknowledgement for that here in your comments. thanks for the endorsement, coming from you it means quite a lot.
