Iyad Alawi's regime arrests Al-Kubaisi
Abd Al-Jabbar Al-Kubaisi opposed the government of Saddam Hussein but did not support the UN sanctions against Iraq, the US-UK imposed no-fly zones, or the US-UK invasion in 2003. He traveled from Paris to Baghdad in 2003 and met with Hussein, as did several dozen other Iraqi dissidents then living abroad.
The delegation agreed to defend the country against a US-led invasion, and Hussein agreed to allow political dissent after the war.
But Bush picked Chalabi, who's chief qualifications were grand larceny and grand lies, then Alawi, who's chief qualifications were having been a Baath assassin. If there is anything else Bush/Alawi can do to illegitimize this, they're bound to try it.

And completely OT, did you see the NYTimes piece yesterday: How About Not 'Curing' Us, Some Autistics Are Pleading? Any chance of a thread on that?

Actually, Todd, I put up the article on the sidebar yesterday morning, then spent the entire day reading back into the history of the battle between autistics.org and Michelle Dawson on one side, and parents such as Lenny Schafer on the other. I'll be pulling something together soon on what I've learned.
