How the Abenakis greated Verrazano

As all protest is illegal and the Republic has been dead since 12/14/00, this is as good or better than anything since the reproductive rights rally at the Mall. In Le Monde this is reported straight, above the fold and in depth Premières manifestations anti-Bush à New York. Let me know (comments) how this was covered chez vous.

It was like this when Verrazano's ship coasted southern Maine in 1524.

Well, "chez nous" - in conservative Western Michigan - I found no mention of any NY protests in the newspaper. Boy, am I grateful for the internet which allows me to get news when I choose, not when "they" deign to share it with me. I'm hoping that the Pony Express may bring news from NY to our presses in time for the Sunday paper, but more likely they'll just avoid all mention of peaceful protests and wait until they can describe all the chaos those darn liberals are causing at the RNC convention.

Next in the loop, after the HIV/AIDS activists, was several thousand cyclists, ecologists and/or transportation activists, with what I understand to have been about 100 arrests. I wish someone were War-In-Iraq style blogging the RNC event.
