They begin to turn on their own...

Though often on target, it's hard to forgive Maureen Dowd's position as one of the Kewl Kidz who piled on Clinton, and later Gore (for reasons Digby so eloquently explains here.) So I was a bit surprised at this commentary inserted in MoDo's OpEd piece this week:

W. had a barbecue for the press on Thursday night. (If only the press had grilled him instead.) He mingled over catfish and potato salad with the reporters, who had to ride past Cindy Sheehan's antiwar encampment to get to the poolside party.

Dan Froomkin wrote on the Washington Post Web site that many of the reporters "fawned over Bush, following him around in packs every time he moved." W. chatted about sports and the twins, still oblivious to the cultural shift that is turning 2005 into 1968.

Dowd has been highly critical of Bush since being denied White House press credentials a few years back. But this is the first I can recall of her attacking her colleagues in the WH press corps. Hopefully a sign that as the Administration loses it's golden glow, the sycophant moths will quickly fall away.

Well, even here she's only quoting Froomkin, who's doing the actual attacking. But still.

Even with the backing of OsamaBinLaden and YasserArafat the AirAmericaRadioDailyShowFahrenheitDNCjr.Marxists couldn't rock the vote! So now they pay homage to the 'glow' by camping along the road in the latest 'dim blub' raison d'etre.

The unconcious mind is a terrible thing to waste. Frustration knows no bounds, ask Maureen.

Wow! A real, honest-to-goodness troll. I didn't think we had them here. Did someone build a footbridge lately and not tell me?

It may be my fault. I have written some stuff recently that seems to have upset more than a few people.

Dwight, as far as I'm concerned, that means you're doing a great job. :-)
