There are 15 Tuesdays until the 8th of November. That's August 2nd (today), 9th, 16th, 23rd, 30th, September 6th, 13th, 20th, 27th, October 4th, 11th, 18th, 25th, and November 1st and 8th. At the close of the reporting day we'll know if Michael Heath's campaign (Christian Civic league of Maine), or Jesse Connolly's campaign (Maine Won't Discriminate), has prevailed.
The issue is quite simple. Shall the State of Maine outlaw discrimination in employment, housing, education, public accommodations and credit, or allow such discrimination, if the persons discriminated against are not heterosexual?
Please consider giving to MWD. If you don't live in Maine but know someone who does, or who summers in Maine (we've the highest 2nd residence rate in the US), please take this up with your acquaintance. It is quite simple. Is Maine as civil a place as we'd like it to be, or should civility in Maine, whether one is seasonal or year-round, include mean-spirited discrimination. I'll call the MWD people I know tomorrow and see if I can't get better links up than the ones that Goggle currently answers with.
