At the Rome ICANN meeting I suggested to Carolyn Hoover that "blog.coop" might work, and after some back-and-forth we're going to give it a try.
Let me know if you want name.blog.coop to resolve to some particular address, for the name of your choice. If you blog about a particular coop, or are a member of a coop, I'd appreciate it if you'd let me know that too.
We're doing something similar with "colo.coop" for people who self-host. If you don't know what self-host means economically, see Paul Vixie's personal colo registry. My link to Paul's personal colo registry does not constitute any form of endorsement by Paul, but it sure is an endorsement by me of Paul and his personal colo registry. If you don't know what self-host means technically, then I recommend you use the service of someone who does.
If you think either of these is a wicked cool idea, then you probably want to help stocking the shelves and bagging the groceries, which is how I spent two Saturday mornings a month as a member of the Monterey Consumer Co-op. Drop me a line, I'll find an apron and gloves in the appropriate size.
