I've added a new member to the sidebar, Ayelet Waldman. Besides also being a Wesleyan alum and recent member of the now 40 crowd (like our mutual friend, Allison,) she's also the mom of four 10-and-unders who gave up a blossoming career (in her case, as a public defender) to follow the Mommy Track.
But even diapers can't hold a good woman down. Ayelet turned in her power suits for a word processor, and has been churning out fun murder mysteries with snappy titles such as The Big Nap, Death Gets a Time Out and Nursery Crimes. And while many wouldn't fail to mention her Pulitzer winning spouse, I'll stick to Ayelet, as she's the bees knees even without her presumably better half. Besides, she's the one with the blog. And they live in Berkeley (Eric's a UC alum.)
Check out Bad Mother. Yes, I wear that title with chagrin, and pride, as well.
