Apologies to all my readers that I haven't updated Wampum in a few days now. The weekend was spent finishing up our mudroom, yesterday, we headed down to the Granite State to meet up with Senator Edwards and his crew, and today is the day I've set aside to organize the Portland Democratic City Committee Annual Bean Supper (October 26th, for any of you in town that evening.) I'll try and get some posts up later today, although I'm sure you're all glued to the California recall story and don't even miss me.
But in the meantime, if you're sick of Ahnold and his sordid not-so-distant past, check out some of the great sites on the sidebar. And don't forget to visit the new and improved JohnEdwards2004 website.
Posted by MB Williams at October 7, 2003 11:31 AM | TrackBackI am relatively new to blogging. What brought me to it was an article that used you as a source of info and I was like "whoa" (just kidding). I have a vendetta against Eli Lilly. I also have a son who is mildly autistic, more resembling ADHD.
I thought it interesting that there was a CHADD senate briefing to dispel myths about AD/HD on the PRnewswire on 9/30/03 sponsored by pharmaceutical companies. Wanted to bring to your attention their profound philanthropy in educating our senators. What a bunch of nice guys!! (Eli Lilly mentioned first!!)
My son developed a HHE (hypotonic hyporesponsive episode...his brain swelled up....) coming home from the health office at 2 months after shots. It was a, what's that term, close temporal association. His brain was going to swell up anyhow on that day...by four months I told the doctor he wasn't bonding..no eye contact until 2.5 years. I think it is so nice that the pharmaceutical companies can giveth HHE, and taketh away from my pocketbook for ritalin.
If Edwards makes it, the trial lawyers are going to take over the United States and I am for sure contacting Waters and Krauss. All politics is local, you know!!

I have a question that I blogged about. The Washington Post is hinting that Edwards was "substantially" out fundraised by Clark's 3.5 million dollars in Q-3. What are the rumors and numbers that you are hearing?

Posted by: fester at October 10, 2003 05:07 PMActually, I know it's always been the Edwards strategy for them to raise money early, then focus on policy and message. Senator Edwards outraised everyone in the first quarter, then did fine in the second. While it's always great to have money constantly coming in, I personally think it can get in the way of message (I was really turned off by "the Bat" and how it seemed to supercede everything). So I don't let it concern me. But then again, I come from a state with public financing of campaigns.
