When does it become a quagmire?

Between 1961-1965 there were 1864 American military deaths in Vietnam, or an average of one per day.

There have now been 242 American military deaths in Iraq, or an average of 1.6 per day.

Today was much worse:

BAQUBAH, Iraq, July 26 -- A grenade apparently tossed from the fifth floor pediatrics ward of a hospital for women and children killed three U.S. soldiers and wounded four others today, ending the deadliest week in the past three months for U.S. forces in Iraq, according to the U.S. military and witnesses.

[Update: According to CNN, a fifth soldier was killed in a grenade attack.]

What the heck is that supposed to mean oij? Can't engage MB's very legitimate question as to when this becomes a quagmire?

Oij, I have to tell you, it took me a good ten minutes trying to figure out whether that was a satirical website or not. "Tax like Mondale and spend like Carter"? I guess old Tom spent a little too much time sniffing pesticides. But you know, it's great blogging material. Thanks.
