Please.

There's a new feature on Wampum's sidebar, a button for Blogathon2003. That's right, the Williams' will be throwing caution (and routine, a big deal in an autistic household) to the wind and spending 24 hours, July 26-27, blogging for Cure Autism Now.
If you mouse on the Blogathon button, it will take you to the Blogathon participants list sorted alphabetically. Cure Autism Now is a very worthy, very proactive organization supporting biological research on autism. Currently, the US funding for autism research is $78.5 million, or $52.33 for each of the 1.5 Americans living with autism. [In comparison, NIH funding for HIV/AIDS is $2.77 billion, $5,540.00 for each of the 500K Americans living with the conditions.] With the budget crises throughout the country, funding for public research has been severely strained. Each day research is delayed, another child is diagnosed with autism.
I haven't decided upon my exact gimmick yet for the Blogathon, but I promise my 48+ posts will at least attempt to be entertaining.
So please sponsor me. I promise I'll only ask about a million more times before July 26th.

Posted by: emily at July 6, 2003 04:38 PMMy dog ate my lily plant, I mean credit card.
I hope Freckles is okay. And thank you, Emily.
Posted by: MB at July 6, 2003 05:12 PMGood luck, MB! I was thinking about doing the Blogathon myself, but I don't want to step on your toes. I'll see what kind of response I get to the feeler I put out today (along with a plug for you, of course!). If I go through with it maybe you and I can correspond back and forth in our blogs for 24 hours. :)
